About Josephine Kasper

Becoming a therapist began while I was pursuing a degree in dance and grew out of my fascination with what I call the dance of life. Like most dances, I soon noticed that life choices are often delicate—and sometimes, we find ourselves out of step.

I have a passion for empowering others to claim success in their health and well-being. I believe we have all experienced emotional trauma that informs our daily approach to life.

I work from a systemic lens, combined with therapeutic approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, Gestalt therapy, trauma-informed care, positive psychology, solution-focused therapy, and humanistic philosophy. I do not believe people need “fixing”; rather, they need support to access their true selves. I teach and promote mindfulness and meditation in my sessions, with part of my practice dedicated to wellness education through integrative and holistic health.

My experience includes working with military members, patients in the Kaiser Permanente medical system, adolescents in group homes and school settings, and couples and families in private practice. I have specialized experience in treating ADHD, chronic health management, transition-related issues (such as career changes and life phases), adjustment disorders, interpersonal effectiveness, relationship conflict, and familial stress.

No matter the presenting issue, I take a systemic approach—meaning I look at the global picture of your life, what I like to call the mind–body–spirit—and help you determine which realms may need shifts or adjustments. I hope to collaborate with you on your journey toward mental health and well-being.

I hold a Certificate in Integrative Health (Integrative Health and Lifestyle Program) from the University of Arizona’s Center for Integrative Medicine, founded by Dr. Andrew Weil.

I am licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in both Arizona and California (#15295 & #86892), and I earned an MA in Marital and Family Therapy from Alliant International University (San Diego Campus).

Meet Michelle Caldwell, LAC

With a foundation in family systems theory, I work with individuals, couples, and families to understand how their family of origin and early relational experiences influence present-day behaviors, beliefs, and emotional patterns. By exploring intergenerational dynamics, identifying unconscious roles, and recognizing recurring patterns, clients gain deeper insight into how their upbringing continues to shape their current relationships and internal world.

Grounded in solution-focused therapy, I guide clients in identifying strengths, building on what’s already working, and implementing practical steps toward meaningful change. My approach supports clients in breaking cycles, developing healthier relational boundaries, and building a more intentional, values-aligned life.

An important area I also help clients explore is financial psychology—understanding how early messages and experiences around money affect current beliefs, stressors, and financial behaviors. By bringing awareness to these influences, clients are better able to shift unhelpful patterns and move toward more empowered financial decision-making.

I also offer premarital counseling, helping couples explore expectations, improve communication, and strengthen their foundation as they prepare for a lasting, connected partnership.
